The BMW i8 is rare enough. But winning one by drilling a 6-iron into the cup of the 199-yard, Par 3 15th hole of the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club is once-in-a-lifetime stuff, even for professionals. Well, Scott Brown did just that on the first day of the CIMB Classic 2015, where BMW Group Malaysia is the official automotive partner.
Brown, a 32-year old PGA tour pro with a world ranking of 189th, carried the 6-iron over water and saw his ball bounce twice on the green before rattling the pin for the ace…and landing a rather nice sports car. In case you’re wondering how is Brown going to cope with a right-hand drive car in his home country where they drive on the “wrong” side of the road, don’t fret, he will receive his prize from BMW USA. And no, BMW Malaysia did not just drop a million Ringgit (more precisely RM1,188,800) on a single golf stroke, they have insurance just in case, so bad luck for the insurer.

The ace helped Brown to a four-under 68 for the first day, and he will feature over the weekend after notching an even-par 72 on the second day, tied for 45th with an overall score of four-under. There’s a downer though, we don’t think his golf set will fit in the trunk of the i8.
