Porsche’s posh new centre

Finally, a new flagship showroom befitting the brand and its customers

It has been a long time coming, but Porsche customers in Malaysia can finally step into a facility befitting the stature of the brand and shell out not insubstantial amount of Ringgits for their prized rides in total comfort.

Spanning a built-up area close to 35,000 sq. feet, the flagship Porsche Centre located along Jalan Sungai Besi in Kuala Lumpur cost RM16 million to construct, according to Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the authorised importer of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Arnt Bayer, Chief Executive Officer of SDAP said, “We are thrilled to be moving into the central automotive hub in Kuala Lumpur with the new flagship facility. With this new 3S centre, it is a big step forward for us to provide better service to our customers. Sungei Besi is also the first Porsche Centre in Malaysia that complies to the new Porsche corporate architecture. We look forward to providing customers a complete ownership experience.”

Interestingly, Porsche Centre Sungai Besi also caters to technical and sales training to be conducted in accordance to standards set by Porsche AG. Being a full 3S, the centre has sufficient floor space to showcase 10 cars, along with a nine-bay workshop as well as a separate floor to display certified pre-own cars.

In conjunction with the opening of the new showroom, SDAP took the opportunity to introduce the gorgeous but most decadent of 911, the Targa 4S (see video below) as well as the facelifted Cayenne, the latter is available in five different variants, from the base Cayenne to the Cayenne S E-Hybrid – the first premium plug-in hybrid SUV in Malaysia. However prices are yet to be finalized for both these model, though we’ll update when they are made available.
